Who

Blue Alvarez is myself, Jen Paulousky.

All clothing on this site is either my original design or a re-design/re-purposing of vintage goods.

What

Currently I design knitwear, apparel, and accessories for men and women. Music is an ever-present influence, and I like to link to whomever I'm currently listening to.

Where

Blue Alvarez is now located in Boston, MA. The best way to contact me is via email. My clothing is currently available at my online store.

Knitting patterns are available on my DIY page and in my online shop.

When

I've been officially trying to share my designs online with the world since September 2004. I registered my business with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on 5/8/06.

Why

I think design must be accessible and sustainable in order to truly be great. My goal is to encourage people to seek beauty, utility, and ethical manufacturing in their apparel choices.

How

Materials and Construction:
Currently all my pieces are handmade in my studio in Boston, and I endeavor to use recycled, upcycled, and sustainably produced materials as often as possible.

Sizing:
Sizing for my womens' clothing is as follows:

X-Small: 32-33" bust, 25-26" waist, 36-37"" hips
Small: 34-35" bust, 27-28" waist, 38-39" hips
Medium: 36-38" bust, 29-30" waist, 40-41" hips
Large: 39-41" bust, 31-32" waist, 42-43" hips
X-Large: 42-44" bust, 33-34" waist, 44-46" hips.

I will be adding men's and unisex sizing as I expand my collections.

If you see a piece you adore and would like one made for your specific measurements, please contact me and I will quote you a price on making any piece custom to your order.

I also offer knitting patterns, so that you can make many of the designs to fit you perfectly.

Please note that vintage, used, and re-worked pieces are one-of-a-kind and cannot be re-sized.

Ordering and Payment:

Currently I sell online via Etsy. On there, you can pay with a Paypal account or any major credit card, and I will receive a notice from the Etsy store to ship your order.

My designs are also available for wholesale. If you have an online or brick-and-mortar shop and would like to carry any of my designs, please drop me a line.

Shipping:

Shipping via USPS priority mail is free to anywhere in the United States. Expedited shipping and international shipping are extra and will be calculated based on your location. Please note the speed at which you need delivery in the comments box during checkout.

Return Policy:

All items are eligible for a full refund of the original cost if the return is postmarked within 30 days of receipt. Any item purchased between November 15th and December 24th is eligible for return until January 30th of the following year.

Items must be returned in their original condition, including all tags. Made-to-order items (including hand knits and special order sizes) are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
