Blue Alvarez is myself, Jenifer Stark.

What

Blue Alvarez is where I post knitting patterns as it strikes my fancy. Some I have done just for personal enjoyment, others were for publications, commissions, etc. There is no regular posting schedule; I go through phases of designing a lot, and then focusing on other things. For the full archive of all my patterns to date, including those commissioned by others, please see my listings on Ravelry.

Where

Blue Alvarez is located in Boston, MA. The best way to contact me is via email. Samples of my knit clothing are available in my Etsy shop and at Made In Fort Point in Boston, MA. Knitting patterns are available on this site's Shop page (limited) and on Ravelry (more extensive listing). Please contact me at bluealvarez@bluealvarez.com for custom orders and special requests.

When

Blue Alvarez knitting designs have been online since September 2004.

Why

I love to knit, and I love to wear knits. It's hard to beat a soft, stretchable fabric for contouring the human body. I also believe in both beauty and utility in my clothing. So I strive to create designs, especially when designing for hand knitters, that has a touch of something special and hand made while still looking and feeling at home in a contemporary closet.

How

Materials and Construction:
Currently all my pieces are handmade in my studio in Boston, and all orders are custom orders, designed to your measurements. If you see a piece you adore and would like one made for your specific measurements, please contact me and I will quote you a price on making any piece bespoke.

I also offer knitting patterns, so that you can make many of the designs to fit you perfectly.

Ordering and Payment:
Currently I sell locally in Boston and online via Ravelry. If you choose to place a custom order from an area outside of Boston, you may contact me directly via email at bluealvarez@bluealvarez.com. I accept credit cards for custom orders via Paypal and the Square Up application.

Shipping:
Shipping for any custom order or sample purchase through Etsy is via the United States Postal Service for US locations. Expedited shipping and international shipping are calculated based on your location and may use other carriers. Please note your preferred delivery method when contacting me for a custom order.
All patterns are electronic downloads (.pdf format), so shipping is not applicable.

Return Policy:
Custom orders are only returnable within 15 days of receipt, and there is a 30% reclaimation fee. If you receive a custom order and are dissatisfied with any aspect of the final fit or quality, please contact me immediately upon receipt at bluealvarez@bluealvarez.com so that I may rectify the problem for you.
