I started this dress as a class project for a knitting machine course I took in 2007 at RISD. The pieces were knit in 100% wool on a standard gauge brother knitting machine, and pieced together a year later on my Bernina sewing machine. The collar and cuffs are handknit, and hand beaded.
This design was inspired by the work we did in class using a manual tuck stitch, and the great heights that Joe Segal took that technique to in his own dresses. One of a kind, this dress is now for sale at the Boston Handmade Downtown holiday store in Boston, MA.
